Amr Aref, M.D.
Amr Aref, M.D., is the Chief of Radiation Oncology for St. John Providence East Region. He is certified in radiation oncology by both the American Board of Radiology and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
As one of the most experienced radiation oncologists in the Metro Detroit area, Dr. Aref has treated not only patients with common cancers such as breast, prostate and lung, but also many patients with relatively uncommon cancers such as cancer of the head and neck, lymphoma and gynecological cancers.
Paul J. Chuba M.D., Ph.D.
Dr. Paul J. Chuba M.D., Ph.D., originally from Farmington Michigan, attended Farmington High School, Kalamazoo College, and received a doctorate degree in Microbiology and Immunology from Wayne State University School of Medicine. In 1992 he graduated from Wayne State’s medical school. He completed residency training at St. John Hospital and Medical Center (transitional year), the Detroit Medical Center and the Karmanos Cancer Institute (Radiation Oncology) in 1996, where he remained as a staff member until the year 2000.
Maria Vlachaki M.D., Ph.D.
Dr. Maria Vlachaki obtained her Medical Degree from the University of Athens and her Doctorate of Philosophy in molecular cancer biology and gene therapy from the University of Crete in Greece. She completed residencies in Internal Medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan, New York and Radiation Oncology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.
