North Macomb Radiation Oncology Center was founded in 2008 and is affiliated with St. John Hospital and Medical Center. It is staffed by Dr. Aref who is chief of Radiation Oncology for St. John Health East Region and by Dr. Chuba who is Director of Radiation Oncology at St. John Macomb Hospital. Both physicians have been selected as Metro Detroit Area’s “Top Docs” in the field of Radiation Oncology by Hour Magazine.
In addition to great physicians, our experienced, friendly staff, modern treatment facility and ancillary support programs provide patients with comprehensive cancer care that is customized to each patient’s individual needs. We provide a wide array of radiation therapy techniques including external beam, IMRT (Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy), brachytherapy, SBRT (Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy), radiosurgery, 4D simulation and treatment, and are the only center in Macomb County to offer RapidArc® Technology, a major advance from Varian Medical Systems that improves dose conformity while significantly shortening treatment times.
